The Hiking Society presents our 6th hike of the year!
Pen-y-Ghent
Pen-y-Ghent is one of the famous Yorkshire Three Peaks, standing proudly above the village of Horton-in-Ribblesdale. Hike to the summit via the classic route, scramble up the steep ascent near the top, and enjoy breathtaking views across the Yorkshire Dales! Descend via the gentle circular route back to Horton.
It will be an amazing day!
Meet at Bradford Forster Square Station at 8:50.
We will take the train to Horton-in-Ribblesdale Station and arrive at approximately 10:30.
There will be Toilets in Horton-in-Ribblesdale before we begin the hike. There will be no toilets during the hike until we return to the village.
There will be NO SHOPS TO BUY FOOD, so please bring food before you set off. WE DO NOT PROVIDE FOOD.
The hike is approximately 11.2 km (7.0 miles) with around 516m (1694 ft) of climb. This is a HARD difficulty hike.
There is minimal to no shelter on the hills, so please bring full waterproofs, including adequate layers. If you need hiking boots, please contact us in advance, and we will see what we can do.
Expect to return to Bradford between 6 and 7 pm.
Tickets are required for all our hikes. To get Transport Included tickets, our Membership is required
