We are the University of Bradford Archery Club and we strive to create a safe community of archers at the University. Everyone is welcome but beginners beware, archery is highly addictive.
Come and join us at Unique sports hall on:
- Thursdays at 4pm to 7pm
- Saturdays at 9am to 12am
(Beginners, please come by at 5pm on Thursday and 9.45am on Saturday to let us get the range set up for you!)
We also compete in a variety of competitions including BUCS, NEUAL and our annual Varsity match against Huddersfield.
Beginners' Courses:
We do ask anyone who is new to the club to either produce evidence of current or prior affiliation to a governing body affiliated to World Archery, completion of a beginners' course, or pass a basic safety assessment with one of our coaches.
If you are completely new to the sport, we do run beginners' courses. Our first one is due to start on Thursday 12th October at 5pm and run every thursday for 6 weeks. We do require attendance at all sessions to pass the course however, we are flexible within reason regarding further days after the course has concluded. The cost of these sessions is £15 for the block of 6 weeks (cheaper than other clubs which usually charge £50-80) to cover the extra coaching required. If you are interested, come to a give it a go session, or our stall at freshers where we will have a link to sign up and pay for the course, or email us at archery@ubu.bradford.ac.uk. Spaces are limited and if we do fill spaces, we will consider running another course starting a couple of weeks after this course. We will also run another course in January.
Once you have completed the beginners' course, you must be part of the group on the UBU website to carry on shooting with the club and have paid the sports membership (This is for insurance reasons).
