Welcome to the University of Bradford Water Polo Club! Also know as Bradford Barracudas, we're one of the friendliest clubs on campus and cater for all abilities, ranging from ex-national players right down to beginners who have never played before. ALL ABILITIES ARE WELCOME into our mixed club (although a basic level of swimming aptitude is required) so whether you're male or female, there are no trials, if you want to play, you'll play! Training is twice a week at Unique's swimming pool on campus where we develop skills, fitness and match day tactics.
If we had a big enough squad we would be playing in BUCS leagues and tournaments, Varsity and friendlies giving everyone a chance to experience playing against some of the best players in the country but we haven't got enough members for a team this year (Big sad :( )
In past years we've had an extremely successful competitive club and have won the prestigious 'UBU Team of the Year Award' 3 times in the last 10 years, also topping the BUCS and UPolo leagues on numerous occasions! Our fantastic results are due to the "Work hard - play hard" ethos that permeates the club. It has had a long and storied history and so it be a previalge for you to become apart of the history at this club and the University of Bradford.
Bradford Barracudas also offer a great social experience with post match socials (if we played) as well as socials every/most Wednesdays. We also organise events throughout the year. Drinkers and non-drinkers are welcomed equally! We attend the annual UBU Colours Ball and have a big Christmas and end of year socials.
In Summary: No pads, No helmets, No protection... Just men (and women) with Balls!
